  N. Ryan Livingston, DMD, MD

  Oral Surgeon

  Dr. Livingston specializes in surgical treatment and reconstruction of the face and mouth. He was raised in the Tennessee Valley of North Alabama. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology with a Minor in Chemistry from the University of North Alabama. He then obtained both a Medical and Dental degree from the University of Alabama Birmingham. He then completed a 1-year internship in General Surgery and a 6-year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Alabama Birmingham. He also served as Chief Resident of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Professional Interests: During his time at UAB, he performed countless reconstructive surgeries on Alabama’s trauma victims. Dr. Livingston received extensive training in orthognathic surgery, TMJ treatment and surgery, cosmetic surgery, maxillofacial pathology and reconstruction. He has special interest in dentoalveolar surgery including wisdom tooth removal, bone grafting and dental implant surgery. Dr. Livingston’s research includes advanced pain control techniques in pediatric patients as well as minimally invasive trauma reconstruction techniques. Personal Interests: Dr. Livingston and his family have attended Briarwood Presbyterian Church since 2002 and have been active members since 2003. His free time is spent enjoying time with Marianne, his wife, and three children.

  Joshua Edward Everts, DDS, MD, FACS

  Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon

  Dr. Everts has established his practice based on core Christian values and strong surgical principles. He believes that the most important aspect of his profession is his patients’ health and well being. Dr. Everts is committed to bringing his patients the very best in surgical technique and the absolute greatest in modern technology. Dr. Everts is the second of four children, born to Ed and Sheila Everts in Minot, ND. The Everts family moved throughout the Midwest before they finally settled in Dubuque, IA, where Dr. Everts spent the majority of his childhood and graduated from Dubuque Senior High in 1999. He went on to attend the University of Iowa for both undergraduate and dental school education. In order to obtain both his oral surgery specialty training and his medical degree, Dr. Everts attended the University of Alabama Birmingham where he met his wife Carlin. Dr. Everts received extensive training in the full scope of oral and facial surgery during his training and continues that wide range of surgical procedures in his practice today. Professional Interests: Dr. Everts specializes in orthognathic surgery, bone grafts, dental implants, teeth extractions, and sedation/anesthesia. Dr. Everts performs surgery in a state-of-the-art accredited surgical facility and adheres to a strict code of ethics. Dr. Everts works closely with the local pediatricians and pediatric dentist to offer specialized care in pediatric sedation and surgical procedures. Dr. Everts is constantly pursuing knowledge and the latest trends and technology in oral and facial surgery. He regularly attends surgical courses and national meetings to maintain his cutting edge surgical training. Dr. Everts is currently Board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS) and recognized as a Fellow of The American College of Surgeons (FACS). Dr. Everts is part of numerous professional societies including the ADA, AAOMS, AL Dental Society, AL OMS Society, OMSPAC, OMSF, AMA. Personal Information: Dr. Everts is heavily involved in his local church community at Church of the Highlands and spends his free time with his wonderful wife Carlin and his two sons, Eli and Isaac and his baby girl Isla. He also enjoys physical fitness and works out at Crossfit J19.

  David Davis, DMD, MD

  Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon

  Dr. Davis lives based on two simple principles – hard work and honesty. He believes that treating each and every patient like a member of his family. He was born and raised in middle Georgia and went on to receive his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology at the University of Georgia. He developed a love for dentistry while there and moved to Birmingham, AL where he obtained both his Medical and Dental degrees from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). He met his wife Amanda Davis while in dental school. He then completed a 1 year internship in General Surgery and Anesthesiology including specific time devoted to Pediatric anesthesia and a 6-year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at UAB. He also served as Chief Resident. Dr. Davis received extensive training in the full scope of oral and facial surgery during his training and plans to continue that wide range of surgical procedures in his practice. Professional Interests: While at UAB, he performed extensive and countless surgeries in the field of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery. He received training in orthognathic surgery, TMJ treatment and surgery, cosmetic surgery, maxillofacial benign and malignant pathology, maxillofacial reconstruction, dentoalveolar surgery, and sleep apnea surgery. He has special interests in dentoalveolar surgery, bone grafting, dental implants, orthognathic surgery, sleep apnea surgery and pathology. Dr. Davis is part of numerous professional societies including the ADA, ALDA AAOMS, AMA, AL Dental Society. He will pursue board certification in the coming year. Personal Interests: Dr. Davis and his wife, Amanda are devoted Christians and are looking for their new church home in the Oxford/Anniston area. They have 1 child, Avery and 1 dog, Lexie. He enjoys spending his free time with his family, obtaining continuing education in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery, and learning how to play golf. His wife opened a new dental practice in Jacksonville, AL where she was raised. She is actively taking new patients.

• G. Fred Atwell, DMD

  Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon

  G. Fred Atwell is a native of Pensacola, Florida. He is married to Susan Atwell and they have two sons, Tony Atwell, CRNP, Anniston, Alabama, and Brian Atwell, DVM, MZS, Maui, HI. Dr. Atwell and Susan have 3 granddaughters and 1 grandson. Dr. Atwell graduated from Emory University in 1968 with a BA degree in Chemistry. In 1972 he graduated Emory University School of Dentistry and then entered the US Naval Reserves. He was stationed at Pensacola Naval Hospital, Pensacola, Florida till 1974. Dr. Atwell entered private practice of general dentistry in Jay, Florida 1974 to 1978. He then did his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Emory, and Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta 1978-1981. Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Atwell opened his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery practice in Anniston, Alabama. The Carrollton, Georgia satellite office opened in 1988. Traveling is Dr. & Mrs. Atwell’s favorite past time. He does enjoy reading, painting, sculpting, and the occasional stained glass project.
